With deep sorrow tempered by a profound gratitude for a life so richly lived, we announce the passing of Marco Antonio Marin Acosta, who departed this world on July 23, 2026, in Arlington, Virginia. Born on June 18, 1946, in Peru, Marco’s journey on earth was one defined by exuberance, warmth, and boundless affection for family and friends.

From his earliest days, Marco radiated a spirit of joy and charisma that set him apart. His presence was a buoyant one—lifted by a passion for music and dancing which naturally drew others to him, and sustained by a formidable work ethic honed over a lifetime of dedication. Those fortunate enough to have known Marco describe him as a man who balanced discipline and joy with effortless grace, whose laughter brightened every room and whose resilience inspired everyone he encountered.

Marco cherished the simple pleasures of life. He had a special fondness for playing handball, savoring delicious food, and not just cooking for himself, but for all who gathered around his table. Mealtimes became celebrations in his home, each dish infused with care and a touch of his zest for living. Whether sharing a traditional recipe or simply enjoying a beautifully prepared meal, Marco brought people together through his love of good food and the joyous camaraderie it inspired.

His life was most fully expressed in the depth of devotion he showed to his family. Marco’s unwavering love and care served as the cornerstone upon which his family flourished. He is survived by his wife, Elena Ziegler, his children, Marco, Johann and Karen and his cherished grandchildren: Rodrigo, Brianna, Ignacio, Tadeo, and Nathan, whose laughter and youthful spirit brought him immeasurable joy and fulfillment.

To celebrate Marco Antonio Marin Acosta’s remarkable life and the indelible mark he leaves on all who loved him, a viewing will be held at Unity of Fairfax, 2854 Hunter Mill Rd, Oakton, VA 22124, on July 27, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Though Marco has departed from our sight, the warmth of his spirit, the vibrance of his laughter, and the strength of his love continue to live on in those who knew him best. His legacy is woven through countless treasured memories, meals shared, dances enjoyed, and moments of kindness bestowed a testament to a life truly and beautifully lived.
