We lost Mark on June 11, 2026 after a defiant battle with cancer in Alexandria, held by his dad, Mike, and cared for by his loving family and friends, Jeremy Berg, Mike Klem, and Natalie Henley-Edwards.

Mark Luckey Gustina (neé Mark James Luckey) was born to Sandra Anita Klem and James Richard Luckey on July 20, 1973 at Corning Hospital, Corning, NY. He is predeceased by James Luckey and his grandparents Gladys and John Klem and Betty and Don Gustina. He is survived by his mother, Sandra Anita Gustina (neé Klem) and adopted father Michael Berry Gustina, his little sister Margo Elizabeth Gustina (children: Hazel and Koal Teague Gustina) and his partner Nan (Phuket, THL). He is also survived by Mike’s wife and children, Rachel Jan Gustina (neé Van Ginhoven), Joseph Anthony Desiderio, and Daniel Curtis Gustina. Mark is survived by innumerable cousins, aunts, and uncles who love him dearly.

At age 5, Mark moved with Sandra and her husband Mike to Bath, NY and became the world’s best big brother the following year. He started his first business on Haverling Street in a barn behind their house selling minnows and bait to fishermen. Throughout his life in Bath, he showed remarkable perseverance and grit, lettering in Football and Wrestling, studying in Cuernavaca (MX), and working the whole time.

By the time Mark achieved his graduate degree in audiology and speech and language pathology from the University of Hawaii - Manoa, Mark had lived, worked, or studied in five countries. He broke his collarbone playing rugby in Cambridge, and survived a pirate kidnapping in the Mediterranean Sea. To save up the money for graduate school, he traveled by motorcycle between his seasonal bartending gigs in Key West, Florida and Putin Bay, Ohio.

He opened his audiology practice in Cranberry (PA) in 2003, before turning 30. He often recounted that through the decades of his business ownership, his fondest memories were visiting patients who were homebound steel workers and veterans, spending time with them in their homes, and helping them solve their hearing problems.

Even after launching and establishing his independent practice, Mark’s life never stopped being extraordinary. We all remember the Nancy Lee, the boat he would live on for years after driving it through the inter-coastal waterways of the Atlantic from Miami to Chesapeake Bay, having never boated in the ocean or driven a boat that large for any length of time. When Mark decided he would do a thing, he did it. And it was beautiful.

The family would like to invite people who loved Mark to join them in sharing stories and celebrating his incredible life on July 11 from 2 pm to 6 pm at Carey’s Brew House, 58 Bridge Street in Corning, NY. We know that many of Mark’s nearest and dearest friends live all over the world and may prefer to celebrate where they live. We’d love to hear how you celebrated him in your own homes or beaches when you can.
