Mark Allen Poteet Jr

It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Mark Allen Poteet Jr. A.k.a. the muffin man.  February 15, 1993, in Dale city Virginia. He spent 31 years as a son , little brother, a best friend ,lover ,and most of all a warrior in the fight against cystic fibrosis. He passed away June 12, 2024 at 7:07 PM. Mark  leaves behind his mother Ava Poteet, his fiancé, Jordan Matthews and their  two dogs Harold and Wanda. They spent almost 10 years together, his big sister, Stephanie Ann Benson. Many cousins and nieces and nephews.  Mark  truly lived life to the fullest. He was a passionate individual who found joy playing video games listening to audiobooks. And watching movies he had a great love for all kinds of music ,simple pleasures made him very happy . whenever he was faced with challenges, he faced them with courage, grace, strength, and resilience. His laughter was infectious. His warm smile will never be forgotten , his memory will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him rest in peace, dear Mark .                                        In sorrow we must go, but not in despair.  Behold!  We are not bound for ever to the circles of the world, and beyond them is more than memory. -        J.
