With great sadness, we announce the loss of our beloved husband and father, Mark Sayko. Mark was born in Homestead, PA on May 13, 1951. He went on to get his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh, which is where (in German class) he met his future wife, Susanne. The class came in extra handy when, after they wed, they moved overseas to Germany and England, while working for the federal government. It was here that he first expressed his love of traveling and skiing. With their daughters, Stacey and Stefanie, they lived in Germany and England for 10 years before moving back stateside. Mark continued his hobbies and love of photography, music, movies, and handyman activities, sprinkling in travel to places such as Hawaii, New England, Mount Rushmore, San Antonio, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, and New Orleans…several of which were with his granddaughter, Allison. After about 35 years of working as an HR specialist for the federal government, Mark often said he hated people…but he always found time to chat away or joke  with whomever would listen. He always found a way to pet a nearby dog, having been a devoted owner of Patch, Stanley, Ziggy, and Mochi. Mark is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Susanne Sayko; his daughter Stacey Sayko of Dumfries, VA; his daughter Stefanie Casey, son-in-law Scott Casey, and granddaughter Allison Casey…all of Stafford, VA. He will be sorely missed by all.
