Mary Elise (Lisa) Berger Ennis, age 70, of Fairfax, Virginia, passed away on February 8th, 2026. She was born on February 25th, 1955 in Arlington, Virginia, to Doris and Leo Berger. She is survived by Ralph Ennis (husband), Emily Ennis (daughter), Nicholas Lorenzo (son-in-law), Lawrence Berger (brother), Karl Andrew Berger (brother), Catherine Berger (sister-in-law), Richard Ennis (brother-in-law), and Jess Ennis (brother-in-law.)

Lisa Berger worked as a professional singer in the Washington DC area, and was an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Voice at George Mason University. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Music from the Boston Conservatory of Music. After graduating, she performed with Providence Opera, Stamford Opera, Boston Summer Opera, and Opera-on-the-Sound. She sang for seven years at the Opera House in Regensburg, Germany, and performed as a guest artist in Bremen, Munich, Nuremberg, and also in Vienna, Austria, and Vaals in Holland.

She returned to the Washington area, performed with the Washington Bach Consort, and sang with the Washington National Opera since 1997. She was also a featured soloist in the WNO Agma Relief Fund Concerts. At George Mason, Lisa appeared regularly on Faculty Recitals, and sang as the soprano soloist in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with the GMU Orchestra and combined choruses.

A celebration of life will be held at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday, February 21st:
