Mary Jane Julian died on August , 2026, at the age of 77 in Alexandria, Virgina. She was born on July 1st, 1949, in Youngstown, Ohio to Mary Jane and Michael "Mickey" Carney. She grew up in a large Irish family surrounded by Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends (often being the mischievous one). Mary Jane graduated in 1967 from Ursuline High School and went on to graduate with Bachelor’s degrees in Sociology and Psychology from Carlow College. 

Mary Jane was an Investigator with Trumbull County Children Services for over 30 years and was most proud of the work she accomplished in the sex crimes unit giving a voice to those she would not allow to be silenced. She was a fierce victim advocate, and relentless in her pursuit of justice. She always said that there wasn’t a day that she didn’t look forward to going into work. She will be remembered for her quick wit, ability to tell a joke with her eyes and uncanny memory that was a never-ending video tape. She loved to dance, and it was as if there was a record player always on in her head with the Temptations or Four Tops spinning. She loved live music, motorcycles and watching the sunset on the water.

Survivors include her daughter, Lesley Julian; her son and daughter-in-law, Michael Patrick Julian, Sr. and Dominique Hasbun; her grandson, Michael Patrick Julian, Jr.; niece’s, Robin (Thomas) Powell and Ronda (Dominic) Fronzaglio; and her lifelong best friend Mary Ann Chaffee.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas G. Julian; her longtime partner, Richard F. Schwartz; her brothers Michael and John “Jack”; her lifelong best friend Patricia “Patty” McCauley Guarnieri; cousins Mary Jo Douds and Carol McCarthy; nephew Robert "Bobby" Julian and niece Hannah Rae Julian.
