Mary Lynne Myers

Mary Lynne Myers, of Fairfax, VA, passed away on July 17, 2025, at the age of 90.

Mary Lynne lived a life rich in warmth, wisdom, and wit. She was a devoted educator who spent many years in the classroom, retiring in 1985. After her retirement, she embraced her love of travel, exploring new places and creating lasting memories.

A true lover of good food, Mary Lynne never missed a chance to enjoy a well-prepared meal — especially when shared with family and friends. She cherished time spent with loved ones and had a gift for conversation and connection.

Mary Lynne was a lifelong dog lover, with a special place in her heart for her beloved standard poodles. Her sharp memory was the stuff of legend — she never forgot a birthday and was known for sending thoughtful notes, often before the rest of us even looked at a calendar.

She also found great joy in the simple pleasures of life: watching men’s college basketball, keeping up with Jeopardy!, and staying active in the lives of those she cared about.

Per her request, her ashes will be laid to rest beside her father at Augusta Stone Presbyterian Church in Fort Defiance, VA — a final return to her roots, surrounded by the peace she valued so deeply. No services are planned at this time.

Mary Lynne will be remembered for her generous spirit, quick mind, and the deep love she gave to both people and pets. She will be dearly missed.
