Milagros Cipres Dela Pena
April 1, 1935 – April 20, 2026
With hearts filled with profound gratitude and deep sadness, our beloved mother, Milagros “Carmen” Cipres Dela Peña, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, at the age of 91. She will forever be remembered as a strong, generous, and devoted woman who would, without hesitation, sacrifice everything for her family.
She was born in Dumaguete City, Philippines, the middle of a brood of five children. At a young age, she experienced profound hardship when her mother passed away during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines. Despite the challenges of war and loss, she and her siblings endured the harsh realities around them with resilience and strength—qualities that would define her throughout her life.
Growing up in Dumaguete City, she met Santos Dela Peña, whom she married in 1957. Together, they built a life grounded in love, faith, and perseverance, raising five children. Their bond endured for 68 years—a testament to their deep commitment and devotion to one another.
In 1994, Carmen and her husband, along with their youngest son, immigrated to the United States. They began their life in Arlington, Virginia, and eventually settled in Sterling, Virginia.
Through life’s many trials, Carmen remained steadfast in her faith and unwavering in her commitment to her family. She dedicated her life to caring for those she loved, always placing their needs above her own.
She found joy in the simple blessings of life—cooking, caring for her children, spending time with grandchildren, prayer. Her kindness, humility, and quiet strength touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
She is lovingly remembered by her children—Teresa, Gary, Gina, Ray, and Randy, and grandchildren—Kyle, Chloe, and Alex, son-in-law--Thomas, and daughter-in-law--Janet. She was preceded in death by her husband—Santos Dela Pena who passed away on November, 2025.
Carmen’s life was a testament to resilience, sacrifice, and enduring love. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
