IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nannie Virginia
Weatherford
March 31, 1934 – December 25, 2025
Nannie Virginia Weatherford passed peacefully on December 25, 2025. Nan was a devoted mother to the late Alan Weatherford, the late Mark Weatherford, Timothy Weatherford and his husband, Larry Baer, and Nanette Peddicord and her husband, Kevin Peddicord. She was a beloved grandmother to Adam Weatherford and Tracy Weatherford, Amanda Weatherford, Ian Peddicord and Andrea Peddicord, and Dane Peddicord, and Andrew Peddicord and a proud great-grandmother of six: Sophia Gillispie, Silas Gillispie, Jacob Weatherford, Ryan Weatherford, Emilia Peddicord, and Margot Peddicord.
Nan lived life to the fullest and was ahead of her time in many ways. She was a strong, determined woman who made things happen. Nan loved dancing and music, fashion, decorating, gardening, and truly enjoying life. It was fitting that she passed on Christmas Day, a holiday she adored and always made magical for those around her. She was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, a favorite Aunt, and a compassionate friend to many.
Nan grew up in the mountains of Virginia and deeply cherished her home, which she shared with her late brother, John D. Davenport, and her late sister, Bette Fleming. In honor of her love for nature, a celebration of life will be held in the spring in the Virginia mountains to remember Nan and her son, Mark Weatherford. The gathering will include immediate family and friends, with details to be shared at a later time. Much appreciation goes out to the staff at the Lighthouse Senior Center in Ellicott City, MD for all their care and love over the years and to those who visited her regularly.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Healing Transitions at https://healing-transitions.org/donate/.
Nan will be deeply missed.
