Narayan Arakoni

June 15, 1942 — January 16, 2025

Fairfax, Virginia

Our dear Sri Narayan Arakoni left the physical world (attained Sadgati) on Thursday January 16th, 2025 at home in Fairfax, VA in the company of his wife and daughter.  He is survived by his wife Smt Girija, daughters, Deepa and Aparna and older brother Balan.  The cremation rites were performed by his older brother Balan Arakoni in Vedic Hindu tradition and attended by his closest relatives.  Funeral Karma rituals will be performed in SSVT Temple Lanham MD, until the final day of Jan. 28th.

Narayan Arakoni will be fondly remembered for many things, most of all his devotion to Bhagawan Sri Ramana Maharishi.  He was passionate about classical music which was reflected in his dedicated service to the Sri Shiva Vishnu Temple Cultural committee.  Many people remember him for his beaming smile, welcoming nature and unhesitatingly helpful personality.

Narayan Arakoni held leadership roles in prominent banks in India including State Bank of India and Andhra Bank.  After a remarkable banking career in India, Sri Narayan established successful businesses as an immigrant to the United states in the 1980's.  He used his career and influence to uplift others around him.

His blessings were many, including his ability to depart prior to the new administration.

May God Bless His Soul.
