Neil Alan Glaser

May 30, 1964 — January 22, 2025

Woodbridge, Virginia

Neil Alan Glaser, beloved husband, father, brother and friend, passed away on January 22, 2025, after a courageous six-month battle with brain cancer. He was 60 years old. Born on May 30, 1964, in Vienna, Virginia, Neil was a career salesman whose primary occupation started as a seller of office equipment to government agencies. More dear to his heart, however, was his employment at Horton Vineyards, which he helped establish and for whom he worked for over 30 years. He was the dedicated PR man, designing wine labels and navigating government regulations to bring Horton's award-winning wines to as many people as he could. He worked tirelessly at many wine festivals and dinners, at which he particularly enjoyed speaking about the wines and their histories.

Neil was funny, thought-provoking, and argumentative in the best possible way. He absolutely loved talking to people, and was always willing to engage with anyone on any subject, equally likely to take up either side of a debate if it seemed interesting. He was an avid reader with a deep love for books, particularly science fiction and fantasy. He spent hours listening to audiobooks, often drifting off to sleep with a story playing in his ears. He also liked to travel, particularly to NYC. He had a special fondness for the city, even watching any program which showed the Manhattan skyline.

Family was very important to Neil, and he would take any opportunity to regale anyone who would listen with stories about his family members. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 24 years, Katie, and their beloved children, Ben and Bri. Neil is also survived by his brothers, Art, Bill, and Scott, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a great many friends. He will be dearly missed.
