Nina Michelle Jones

Nina Michelle Jones, born on November 29, 1955, departed this world on July 25, 2026. Through the years given to her, Nina brightened the lives of all who knew her, leaving memories and love that her family and friends will carry forever.

From an early age, Nina’s journey began in the heart of Washington, DC, where she attended public schools on the hill: Charles Young Elementary, Browne Jr. High, and Spingarn High School. Her education was not just a foundational step; it was the beginning of friendships and experiences that shaped her warmth, humor, and resolve.

Nina’s career found her lending her talents to Howard University for several years, and sharing her grace and poise with countless faces as a representative for Avon. In these professional spaces, Nina’s faithful and loyal nature shone through. She worked hard out of love, inspired by the dream of providing for those she cherished most.

But Nina’s real gift to the world was how she lived outside of work. Her laughter was infectious, her great sense of humor lighting up even the most ordinary days. She loved to dance and sing, never shy about expressing her joy. She was the person others would turn to for kindness—a giver, always putting others before herself, and steadfast in her loyalty.

The things Nina loved were simple and soulful: the thrill of bowling with friends, the freedom of dancing, the beauty she found in her collection of wind chimes and angels. These small joys filled her home and heart with comfort, gently echoing her ability to find brightness in every room and every moment.

Nina was faced with her own challenges, including loss of eyesight in her later years. Yet, her spirit never faltered. She pushed forward undeterred, refusing to let her circumstances define the boundaries of her life. She remained a beacon of strength and resilience—reminding those around her that hope and perseverance can carry us through any darkness.

Above all, Nina’s children and grandchildren were her sun, her stars, her reason for everything. They were her life. She leaves behind her beloved daughter, Tiffany Renee Hatcher, and her devoted son, Ivan Jones. Her legacy lives on in her cherished grandchildren: Daisha Rae Butler, Jordyn Jones, Ivan Jones Jr., and Bonus Grandchildren Antonio Hatcher, and Erin Hatcher. Stacy Hatcher, her son-in-law, as well as her dear sister, Geneva Jones- Brown, her sister-in-law Ernestine Richard, her treasured friend, Juanita Campbell, her nephews Ryan and Raynal Jones (Tiya) and her niece Dawn Richard remain among those whose lives she so deeply touched.

Nina is reunited in peace with her mother, Thomasina Richard; her beloved brother, William Richard Jr.; her step-father, William Richard Sr. ;and her brother-in-law Ralph Brown. Their memory remains held close by the family she leaves behind.

To all who had the privilege of knowing Nina Michelle Jones, her story is one of unyielding love, humor, and courage. Her faithfulness, generosity, and unwavering resolve will remain a guiding light for those she loved so well. Though her presence will be dearly missed, the lessons she taught—with a smile, a shared laugh, or a tender embrace—will continue to inspire.

Nina’s family and friends grieve her loss deeply, but rejoice in having been blessed by her life—a life lived with vibrancy, strength, and love.
