In Loving Memory of Okla “Oakley” Allen Keith

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Okla Allen Keith, affectionately known as Oakley, who passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026, at the age of 65.

Born on April 22, 1961, in Manassas, Virginia, Oakley was a caring and generous soul who brought joy, humor, and happiness into the lives of all those around him. His kind heart and warm spirit touched countless lives, and his memory will remain a treasured part of the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.

Oakley was the beloved son of Fredrick Lee Keith and Barbara Ann Colbert Keith. He was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Audie Keith; his precious grandson, Zaden Richard; and his dear niece, Stephanie Keith.

Oakley’s loving legacy continues through his children: Allen Keith and his wife, DeeDee, of Texas; Rhonda Salazar and her husband, Alex, of Virginia; Kelly Keith of Virginia; and Adam Keith and his wife, Felicia, of Maine.

He was a proud grandfather to Michaela, Bryan, Michael, Stassi, Jace, Aarynn, Kendra, Andricks, Channing, Abbygail, and Lillian. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and the love he shared with his grandchildren will live on through them.

Oakley is also survived by his brothers, Gary Keith and his wife, Sharon, and Mike Keith and his wife, Sheri. He was a beloved uncle to John, Jessica, Christopher, Amy, Patrick, Zack, Suzanna, and Leighanne. Oakley cherished the time he spent with his family, and their presence brought richness and meaning to his life.

Throughout his life, Oakley was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and ability to find happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He had a way of bringing laughter and light into ordinary moments, creating memories that his family and friends will carry with them forever.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff of 3B at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Virginia. Their kindness, care, and support provided comfort to Oakley and his family during his final days. Their compassion will always be remembered with sincere gratitude.

As we remember Oakley, we hold close the love, laughter, and memories he gave us. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will continue to live in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

I would like to returnto a holy landfitted to me. In a place

that allows hummingbirdsto be fierce warriorsin their universeinstead of precious gemsin ours, for example,

I may worshipon the scale I prefer,

where every momentis its own, where the smallest detailsare clear and crucial.

Examining their blursand hovers, I can say noto the glorious and impenetrable wingsI have always been told were behind me,

and come backto the source of flightitself: the need to feed,to thrive and pray, with those of my kind,

and to see those hummingbirdsas my kind, in spirit if not in body;

to stare into the cloud of their wingsat the spark of divine humorthat sits still and smilingwithin each.

Oakley will be dearly missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew him.
