Greeted by the wagging tails of his beloved bichons, Buddy and Nunie, Paul Kaufman—a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, and esteemed attorney—passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, at the age of 77.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, to Morris (Mo) and Phyllis (née Schwartz) Kaufman, Paul’s life was a testament to love, laughter, and lifelong learning. Raised in Boston, he was a proud graduate of Boston Latin School—the oldest school in America—and remained close with his lifelong BLS friends. He went on to graduate cum laude from Boston College and earn his Juris Doctorate from Suffolk Law School.

For more than four decades, Paul practiced real estate law, specializing in conveyancing and title. Known for his patience, generosity, and integrity, he believed deeply in helping others achieve homeownership. Paul’s professionalism and kindness earned him the admiration of clients, colleagues, and friends alike.

In 1986, Paul married Brittani Bari-Kaufman of Alexandria, Virginia. Together they shared 41 years of marriage, adventure, and devotion. Paul lovingly embraced Brittani’s three daughters—Kristi Kaufman of Boston, MA; Melanie Johnston and her husband, Sean Johnston, of Burke, VA; and Taryn Kaufman and her husband, Joe Scott, of Garden Grove, CA—his beloved “Solid Gold Dancers,” as well as all of their friends, whom he loved as his own.

Paul took immense pride in his family. He was a devoted “Zaide” to Lauren, DJ, and Kyle Davison, Jaxson Scott, David and Gina Amabello, and adored his granddogs Franklin, Finny, and Lily. He filled every family gathering with laughter, stories, and warmth.

Paul’s interests were as colorful as his personality. He loved reading, numerology, runes, Mel Brooks movies, and all things Boston sports. His Passover seders were legendary—filled with food, laughter, and animated storytelling that left everyone inspired and entertained. He was also a poet, a teacher, and a storyteller at heart.

After retiring in 2018, Paul spent his days poolside, enjoying good food, sunshine, and time with his dogs—proudly maintaining his title as the tannest man in America.

A Celebration of Life will be held next summer on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, one of Paul’s favorite places, where he once coached his All-Star 5th and 6th grade girls’ softball team to victory.

Paul Kaufman’s warmth, wit, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but forever remembered. His life was defined by humor, compassion, and heart—and his memory will remain a blessing to all who knew him.
