Tremblay, Sr.
November 18, 1953 – November 23, 2025
Paul Albertus Tremblay (known as Pat all his life), 72 of Halfmoon, passed away suddenly at his son’s home in Virginia on the morning of November 23, 2025. Born in Troy, he was the eldest son of the late John Paul Tremblay and the late Mary Jane (Washburn) Tremblay of Halfmoon, and husband of the late Geraldine (Maple) Tremblay.
He was a 1972 graduate of Shenendehowa High School, joined the US Navy in 1974, then spent the rest of his life as a master Electrician working for the larger commercial Electrical companies. He retired at 67 but went back to work until his passing.
Pat and his younger brother, Kelley Z Tremblay (deceased), joined the Navy together on the Navy Buddy Enlistment Program in 1974. They spent 3 years together on the USS Coral Sea, where Pat was an Aviation Boatswains Mate, Launch and Recovery specialist. His awards and decorations included the Navy Unit Commendation Medal, the Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Pat was an avid golfer from a young age. He was a Halfmoon Duffer for several years along with his youngest brother, Jimmy. He golfed every chance he got at the local Halfmoon/Clifton Park courses and beyond.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Army Lieutenant Colonel Paul A Tremblay, Jr (Christina), and three granddaughters Madison, Tenley, and Emersyn. His stepdaughter Laurie Ann Mercer (Paul) and 4 grandchildren Elizabeth, Ian, Danielle and Kari. Pat is also survived by his two dog kids, Bear and Spencer as well as his loving siblings, Chris (Dorsey) Corder of NC, Clair Tremblay of NC, Lynn Hanley (Christopher) of Ballston Lake, and James Tremblay of Halfmoon as well as their children. Also survived by his best friend, ex-wife Linda Fretto of Clifton Park.
Services and burial will be held privately at the request of the family.
