Karen Phyllis Lollie was born to the late Sadie and Columbus Lollie on August 5, 1947 in Delhi, New York. She departed this earthly life for her eternal rest at Sentara Hospital, Woodbridge, Virginia on March 30, 2024.
Phyllis was one of six siblings, Billy and Christine who preceded her in death, and survived by Shirley, Alvin (Yogi) and David.
Phyllis attended Delhi Elementary, Middle, and High School, after which she decided to leave Delhi to explore career opportunities. She landed the perfect position with IBM, first in Binghamton, New York, and then in Manassas, Virginia. Phyllis enjoyed being employed with the Fortune 500 company, and quickly excelled in her career. She was promoted to the position of project manager by the end of her career, and retired from IBM after 30 years of service. She didn’t stop there, and with her drive, she continued to work for many more years in Northern Virgina, and most recently at Prince William Home Improvement, to whom she was incredibly grateful for their kindness and support throughout her time there.
Anyone who encountered Phyllis knew she was a loving, caring and giving person. It made her happy to see others happy, especially her family. She was always there for her loved ones – she gave unselfishly and completely even during her illness.
Although Phyllis never had children of her own, she was the BEST Aunt and Great Aunt to 11 Nieces and Nephews, and 13 Great Nieces and Nephews. She loved them with all of her heart and was always there for them being one of their biggest cheerleaders. As Phyllis lived in Northern Virgina, she was particularly close to her niece Jer’neyl Lollie, two nephews Derrick Lollie (Lisa) and Adrian Lollie (Andrea), two great nieces Adrianna Thomas and Naomie Lollie, and two great nephews JeVaughn Wells and Maximo Lollie. She will be truly missed and never forgotten.
Leaving to cherish her memory are her sister Shirley Lollie, two brothers Alvin “Yogi” Lollie (Mary Ellen) and David Lollie (Deborah). She also leaves to mourn a host of other relatives and friends.
