Richard Martin Johnson, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at his home in Oakton, VA on September 9, 2025, at the age of 93. Richard was born in Jamestown, NY on July 14, 1932, and graduated from Bemus Point High School, BARD College, and the University of Buffalo Law School. In 1966 he moved his family to northern Virginia where he would reside until his passing.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 74 years, Marilyn Sandel Johnson, three children, Richard Michael Johnson, Marsanne Johnson, and Jody Johnson McNamara, his niece, Diana Johnson, his nephew, Kain Kolstee, as well as nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his children, Timothy Patrick Johnson and Susan Johnson Albert, and his brother, Ronald Johnson.
