Richard Raymond Kucinski, a vibrant spirit and creative member of his community, passed away on January 10, 2025, in Falls Church, Virginia, after courageous battle with cancer that lasted more than two years. He was born on August 4, 1960, in Passaic, New Jersey and grew up in Wayne, New Jersey. Rich’s early passion for aviation began in his childhood when his parents would take him to the airport to marvel at the planes taking off and landing—a passion that stayed with him throughout his life.  He also liked to get on those planes to visit locations ranging from the Caribbean to Italy.  And when he arrived, he was the life of the party.

Rich earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Scranton, graduating with honors. His professional career spanned many years in promotions, marketing, and grocery, where he made a significant impact with his high energy and dedication. Rich was known for his zest for life, a personality that radiated warmth and humor, and a keen interest in international affairs, allowing him to connect with many and leave a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.  

Those who gathered around his dining table were treated to an array of culinary delights prepared by Rich himself. He took great pride in cooking holiday meals for his family, showcasing his impressive skills with an eclectic variety of dishes that delighted every palate.

Rich is survived by his loving mother, Eleanor Kucinski; his twin brother, James Kucinski; his sister, Barbara Mabey; his brother-in-law Thomas Mabey, his niece, Kimberly Mabey and his brother, Tom Kucinski. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Kucinski.

Rich leaves behind cherished memories of laughter, love, and delightful meals that will be fondly recalled by his family and friends. His legacy of joy and enthusiasm will continue to inspire those who had the privilege to share in his life.
