Robert John Bray, a cherished member of his community and beloved family man, passed away on February 4, 2026, in Ashburn, Virginia. Born on June 16, 1936, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he led a life full of purpose, dedication, and passion.

Robert devoted much of his career to labor relations, working as a distinguished lawyer committed to fostering fair practices in the workplace. He pursued his education with vigor, graduating from St. Joseph's Prep, followed by LaSalle University, and ultimately earning his Juris Doctorate from Villanova University. His educational background laid a strong foundation for a career in which he would make a significant impact.

A proud veteran, Robert served in the United States Marine Corps for six years, embodying the values of honor and service throughout his lifetime. His military experience shaped not only his character but also his approach to professional and personal challenges.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Robert was a man of many interests and hobbies. His love for travel took him around the globe, exploring diverse cultures and landscapes. A dedicated Philadelphia Eagles fan, he cherished the excitement and camaraderie that came with cheering for his favorite football team. Moreover, he found joy in recreational pursuits such as scuba diving and skiing, activities that fostered a sense of adventure within him.

Robert is survived by his loving spouse, Patricia Q. Brennan, his four children and their families: Brian Bray and his wife, Michelle, Gavin Bray and his wife, Franciska, Tara Bray Dickman and Brendan Bray and his wife, Courtney. He is also remembered by his fourteen grandchildren, two stepdaughters and their five children. Robert's legacy continues in the hearts of his family, who will forever treasure the memories and life lessons he imparted.

He is preceded in death by his children's mother, Dr. Susan Bray.
