In Loving Memory of Robert "Coconut" Coats

“

His life was deeply rooted in family, friendship, community, creativity, and the city he proudly called home—Washington, DC.

Robert "Coconut" Coats was a cherished son, father, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. His life was deeply rooted in family, friendship, community, creativity, and the city he proudly called home—Washington, DC.

Robert grew up in Northwest Washington, DC, where he created memories that remained part of his story throughout his life. He graduated from Cardozo High School, where he enjoyed playing football and basketball, displaying the competitive spirit and personality that endeared him to so many.

Robert's passions included music, family time, and the company of those he held dear. His creative spirit shone through as a content creator, sharing his life, thoughts, and experiences on social media platforms, including YouTube, reaching people far beyond those who knew him personally.

An advocate for his community, Robert believed in speaking up and standing for what he felt was right, making him memorable for his presence, personality, and self-expression.

Robert's passions included music, family time, and the company of those he held dear.

Above all, Robert loved his family. He was a proud father to his daughters, Ebony and Lashe, and his love for them will remain part of his legacy. A brother to David, Notasha, Keisha, Aliya, Ayesha, and Derrick, and an uncle to David, Emery, Amir, Robert, Imani, and Rose.

He is survived by his mother, Lisa, his father, Bobby, and his beloved grandmother, Rosa Mae, along with aunts Linda, Pat, Reese, and Debbie; uncles Kenneth, Toni, David, and Robert; many cousins, extended family members, and friends.

A special bond existed between Robert and his grandmother, Rosa Mae. Their connection was filled with love, creating memories that the family will forever treasure. The love they shared will continue to be carried forward.

Robert's life was about more than dates and milestones. It was about the people he loved, the memories he created, the laughter he shared, the music he enjoyed, the sports he played, and the community he cared for, which all combined to make him "Coconut."

Though our hearts are broken by his absence, we are grateful for every memory, every laugh, every conversation, every photograph, every video, and every moment that allowed us to know and love him.

Robert "Coconut" Coats may no longer walk among us, but his spirit lives on through his children, his family, his friends, his community, and everyone who carries a piece of his memory in their heart.

Rest peacefully, Robert "Coconut" Coats.

Your journey on earth may have come to an end, but your story will continue through the people who love you.

Forever our brother. Forever our father. Forever our family. Forever our Coconut.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered.
