Sam Do Yoo

Sam Do Yoo was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose life was defined by hard work, generosity, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Born in South Korea, Sam immigrated to the United States with his family in pursuit of greater educational opportunities for his children and the American dream. Through determination, perseverance, and many years of hard work, he built his own construction company and created a life of which he was deeply proud.

Although Sam worked hard throughout his life, his family was always at the center of everything he did. He loved fishing, enjoyed family vacations, and treasured time with Brielle, his three-year-old granddaughter, who brought him immense joy. Those who knew Sam will remember his generosity, his sense of humor, and his gift for making others smile.

A phrase that reflected the way Sam lived his life was

“안되면 되게 하라.” “If it can’t be done, make it happen.”

Service & Cremation: A brief service and cremation will take place on August 29, 2026, at 4:00 PM at

Carewell Cremations: 2929 Eskridge Road, Suite N Fairfax, VA 22031

The service will be a small, private gathering with family, offering a quiet and intimate opportunity to come together, honor Sam’s life, and say goodbye.

At a later date, Sam’s ashes will be laid to rest alongside a memorial tree and bench dedicated in his honor. Together, they will create a peaceful and lasting place where family and loved ones can sit, reflect, and remember the life he shared with us.

Many people have reached out to ask how they can contribute, and the family is truly grateful for the love and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made toward the memorial tree and bench being established in Sam’s honor.
