On Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, Sigrid Jane Beeckman, 79, passed away peacefully in her sleep following a long illness. She was the cherished wife of Marc F. Beeckman of Springfield, VA, who succeeds her.

Born January 4, 1947 in Washington D.C., Sigrid was the beloved daughter of Robert King Salin and Sarah Jane Salin, who preceded her in death. Her beloved siblings are Robert K. Salin, Jr., (Pam) of Clovis, CA; Gretchen A. Delagrange of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Stephen L. Salin (Margie) of Aubrey, TX; Philip A. Salin (Jack) of Fort Lauderdale, FL; and Lisa L. Len (Scott) of Southport, NC. She loved her many nieces and nephews.

Known and loved by many, Sigrid will be remembered foremost for her insatiable love of gardens, plants and flowers. She also loved traveling and enjoyed a memorable trip to the Chelsea Garden Show in England. Sigrid was an avid cook and loved trying new recipes to the delight of family and friends. She was a skillful knitter, who enjoyed creating blankets for newborns using complicated patterns and specialty yarns.

A graduate of American University, Sigrid pursued her career as a Certified Public Accountant for a variety of real estate development companies in the Washington D.C. area before finding her niche as the Controller/Treasurer of Gould Property Company. She retired in 2016 after a long and successful career with the firm.

Sigrid was well known for her tireless work ethic, her commitment to excellence, her unwavering dedication to moral values, and her loyal devotion to family and friends.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for all the support received during this difficult time.
