Soren Anderson went to sleep and, heartbreakingly, never woke up on August 14, 2026, just four days after his 19th birthday on August 10th. There are no words that can truly capture the shock and devastation of losing someone so young, so suddenly.

Born on August 10, 2007 in Baltimore, Maryland. Soren was the child of Brandi and Anje Anderson.

Soren attended Lake Braddock Secondary School and went on to work as a Member/Youth Advocate at Healthy Minds Fairfax Youth Advisory Council. He was a part of the group that applied to become a recognized chapter of Youth MOVE National and now they are recognized as Fairfax County Youth MOVE. He also worked at 5 Wits in Arlington, enjoying his time bringing joy to children's birthday parties, people's date-night, and anyone else looking for a little magic and puzzles to add to their day. 

He was in a committed relationship with and planning to marry his love, Joy A.

He loved music, good food, fun parties, playing video games, he was a member fo the Scouts, enjoyed nature, and spending time with his friends and family. Soren was a kind, funny, bright, and loving young man. He had a way of bringing light and laughter wherever he went. 

Soren was preceded in death by his father, Anje, and older sister, Minerva Fe Anderson. He is survived by his mother, Brandi, his Oma, his uncles, aunts, grandfather, and countless other family and friends, who are now trying to navigate the unimaginable pain of losing him. If you knew Soren, you know what a beautiful light he was.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 4th, 2026. All are welcome to join a casual experience at Burke Lake Park Shelter C. All are welcome to join this casual experience with outdoor games to pass the time as we meet to celebrate the life of Soren and get to know each other in our shared love of such a welcoming human being. 

The family will be there from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm on this day. A flag ceremony presented by The Scouts will begin around 2:15 pm with a service presented by Pastor Corky Eddins at 2:30 pm with personal accounts of what Soren meant to them present by a few of his closest and dearest friends and family. 

People are welcome to informally share their own thoughts and stories throughout the day. There will be a table to create art while meeting others who also loved Soren and were able to celebrate with us. 

Light fair and drinks will be provided. If you would like to bring your favorite food shared with Soren, you are welcome.
