Stephen “Steve” Paul Smith, 69, died Thursday, November 6, 2025, after a battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen (Reddy) Smith, his father, Paul Smith, his brother, Alan Smith, his brother, Daniel Smith, and his brother-in-law, Leonard Luther, Jr. Stephen is survived by his step-mother, Trudy Smith, his siblings and their spouses: Mark and Lisa Smith; Paula Luther; Douglas and Urline Smith; Andrew Smith; Alanna and Spenser Noe; 2 nieces; and 6 nephews.

Stephen was a graduate of Princeton High School (1974), Princeton NJ, and of Virginia Tech (1978), Blacksburg VA. He was employed in information technology positions for many years by CSC and American Red Cross.

Stephen was a motorcycle enthusiast, owning several bikes that he enjoyed working on and taking on trips to Daytona FL and Washington DC as well as rides in the eastern VA region. He was a fan of NASCAR racing and action movies. Stephen enjoyed cooking and grilling, especially when he could use his pellet grill.

Stephen was a long-time member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Annandale VA. As a volunteer, he worked closely with the Finance Committee, serving as the head counter for the church’s tithes and offerings, and served as an usher. For many years, Stephen played on the church’s softball team.
