Susan Anne (Davison) Cataldo

December 5, 1950 – October 5, 2024

Susan Anne Cataldo, beloved mother of Michelle (Chris) Nicolai, Stephen (Christine) Cataldo, Kelly (Darryl) Austin, and Michael (Cathleen) Cataldo, passed away peacefully at her home in Dumfries, VA. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Gerald John Cataldo.

Sue was born in St. Johnsbury, VT to the late Quentin and Priscilla (nee Benoit) Davison, and with love and support from Fr. Uncle Ronald Benoit. Big sister to Mark (Elizabeth) Davison of Harrisburg, PA, Sue was a fun and loyal friend, and hard worker. She met Jerry in high school and they wed in Arlington, MA in 1972. Growing their family and supporting their kids and eventual grandkids in sports, academics, and other passions was her life’s work. She loved beach trips – especially to the Outer Banks – playing games, family dinners, long walks, and crossword puzzles. Her quiet generosity to family and charities, and not-so-quiet “just a thought” that she always had to offer will be fiercely missed.

Sue, aka “Mimi,” is also survived by grandchildren Grace, Mitchell, Isabella, Gianna, John, Quincy, Genevieve, and Olivia; several in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral mass and celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 18th at 10:30 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, followed by a burial at Mount Comfort, both in Alexandria, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Sue to Inova Schar Cancer Institute whose clinicians cared for her with expertise, dignity, and compassion.
