In Loving Memory of Tamara Jean (Neidig) Laurent

Tammy Laurent, of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. She was 70 years old.

Tammy is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Laurent, her beloved children, Austin and Hayley Laurent, and her brother, Bob Neidig. Born in Danville, PA, Tammy spent her life in the Washington, D.C. suburbs, where she cultivated a love for dance. As a young woman, she was not only a talented dancer but also an inspiring dance instructor, sharing her passion with others.

 Tammy graduated from Regina High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business and a Master of Science in Human Resources Management. She enjoyed a successful 31-year career with the U.S. Postal Service, where she served as an HR specialist and manager. After her retirement, Tammy embraced her entrepreneurial spirit by starting a successful small business as a Professional Organizer, helping others bring order and peace to their lives.

Tammy was an avid fan of Bruce Springsteen, always finding joy in his music, and cherished her travels with Jim. She also took great pride in caring for her beautiful flowers.

Tammy’s strength, warmth, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of sharing in her life are left with cherished memories.

A Celebration of Tammy’s life will be held at the Stacy C Sherwood Community Center

Tammy loved color.  Please dress brightly.  Doors open at 6:00.  Service begins at 6:30.  If you arrive before 6:00, please socialize outside or in the main lobby.

Her light will continue to shine through the lives she touched.
