It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Theresa Leah Grieb, age 43, on June 28, 2026.

Theresa was born in Alexandria, Virginia on January 4, 1983 and grew up in Arlington, Virginia. From an early age, she had a love for the arts and had a gift for creative expression. Her natural ability to communicate through movement led her to Arlington Dance Theatre, which became a second home and the beginning of a lifelong artistic journey.

She continued her dance training in Houston, Boston, and New York, always striving to grow as an artist. After graduating from Wakefield High School, Theresa earned a degree in dance from George Mason University, followed by an MBA from the University of Maryland. She spent the last several years working for nonprofit organizations advocating for environmental and humanitarian issues.

Theresa was a truly creative person whose talents extended beyond dance to art, photography, and other creative pursuits. She combined her passion for creativity with her entrepreneurial spirit to build her own small business. Her determined spirit and desire to bring comfort and joy were exemplified in her self-made company, Repose. She wanted to share her journey with others, dedicating herself to her craft focusing on sustainability and finding inner peace. She was able to secure a relationship with “Made In DC” shops and numerous farmers markets in the greater DC area. She combined her business degree with her artistic vision and poured her heart and soul into her Repose.

Theresa was preceded in death by her father, William Grieb, and her sister, Lynne Christine Gusman (Lynn Feather). She is survived by her mother, Josephine Grieb; her beloved twin brother, Tom; her brother, Larry (Sheryl); and her sister, Cathy (Rob). She also leaves behind Johanna (Jess), Joseph (Seth), Jonathan (Sarah), Jay Daniel, James (Maddy), all of whom held a special place in her heart, as well as Riley, Parker, Logan, Emerson, and Cassian.

Theresa will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. She believed in “family first,” and her love for her family will remain a lasting part of her legacy.
