Thomas (Tom) Forlini lived most of his life in northern Virginia. He earned both a Bachelors and Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech. During his time at Virginia Tech, Tom was a proud member of the Marching Virginians band and continued participating in annual alumni band events throughout his life.
Tom was a career mechanical engineer working at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Carderock for the Department of the Navy until his retirement in 2014. For the past fourteen years, Tom served as president of the Penderbrook Square condo board and was also a representative on the Penderbrook Community Association board.
Tom was an avid hiker and swimmer who enjoyed visiting and hiking through the many civil war battlefields surrounding the Washington DC area. Tom was also a huge baseball fan who enjoyed seeing the Washington Nationals play, but only if he could find a reasonably-priced ticket.
Tom spent much of his time with his family and many, many friends, including his neighbors, his Marching Virginians alumni friends, and his local pool “crew.”
Tom was the son of the late John B. Forlini and Anna Louise Forlini; brother of Louis J. (Betty) and Walter J. (Angela); uncle of Tony (Kelsey) and Alex; and great-uncle of Anna. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
