Valdy Jeannine Sica, a beloved member of the Fairfax community, passed away on February 11, 2026, at her home in Mosby Woods, Fairfax, Virginia. Born on March 9, 1961, in Fairfax, Virginia, Valdy was a fixture in the local landscape, known for her dedication to literature and her nurturing spirit.

Her educational journey led her to attend George Mason University and William and Mary University, where she fostered a love for learning that would remain with her throughout her life. Valdy devoted many years to the Fairfax County Public Library System, where she shared her passion for reading and knowledge with countless individuals, inspiring them to explore the vast worlds contained within books.

Valdy's interests extended beyond her professional life; she was an avid reader and found solace and joy in gardening. These hobbies reflected her adventurous spirit and love for nature, bringing beauty and tranquility not only to her own life but also to those around her.

She is survived by her brothers, Eric Sica and his wife Cynthia, and Andre Sica and his wife Meri. Her family includes her cherished nephews, William Sica and his wife Koren,  Caleb Sica, and Josh Sica, and niece Erin Anello and husband Dan. Valdy's memory will continue to be honored by her loved ones, who carry forward the values of kindness and knowledge that she exemplified.

Valdy was preceded in death by her brother Nicholas D. Sica, and her parents, Nicholas A. Sica and Jeannine Y. Sica. Though she is deeply missed, her legacy lives on through her family and the countless lives she touched during her lifetime. Valdy Jeannine Sica will be remembered for her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to personal growth and community service.
