In Loving Memory of Ved Kumar Malhotra

Ved Kumar Malhotra passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on April 20th, 1935, in India, his journey was defined by curiosity, a gentle spirit, and a deep devotion to his family.

Ved spent his early life and foundational years in India, a land he cherished deeply throughout his life. His path brought him across continents, living and working in Zambia and Botswana, where he embraced new experiences with warmth and wisdom. For the past twenty years, he made his home in the United States, surrounding himself with the comfort of family and the quiet pleasures of a well-lived life.

An avid reader and lifelong learner, Ved possessed an insatiable love for books of all genres. Whether exploring literature, history, or philosophy, he was rarely seen without a book nearby. Music was another of his deep passions, filling his home with melody and providing a constant source of joy and reflection.

Above all, Ved was a devoted father and grandfather whose presence brought steady warmth and guidance to his family. He is survived by his two children: his son, Vivek, and Vivek's wife Zara; and his daughter, Vibha, and her husband Aditya. He leaves behind six cherished grandchildren Rahil, Aarav, Anika, Arjun, Amari and Neeva who will forever carry forward his legacy of wisdom, curiosity, and kindness. Ved will now be reunited with his late daughter Alka, and late son in law Gaurav, along with his late wife Pavitra. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
