Victor Manuel
Arce, Sr.
December 6, 1939 – March 15, 2026
Victor Manuel Arce Rodriguez, Sr., affectionately known as "Vitocho," passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026, in Burke, Virginia, USA. Born on December 6, 1939, in Iquitos, Loreto, Peru, Victor was a man marked by his humble nature, his charisma, and his love to both his family and friends.
Educated at Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, Victor enjoyed reading, learning, and in general listening to those around him and helping them see life with an alternate perspective. Those who knew him remember his jovial spirit, his quick sense of humor, and a generosity of heart that made him approachable and liked by many. Always ready to help anyone in need, he maintained an open and welcoming demeanor that endeared him to friends and family alike.
Victor’s dedication extended beyond personal pursuits to his active engagement in politics, where he was at first involved and later remembered in the Partido Aprista Peruano political party, reaching the position of National Secretary of the Partido Aprista in Virginia. His commitment to his cause reflects in today's party Leadership remembrance and reverence of his time serving the party with honesty and dignity.
Victor cherished his close family ties, leaving behind a loving wife, Myriam, who shared his journey with quiet dignity until the end. He is survived by his siblings: Dodó, Melitón, Marco, Mario, and Camucha. Victor was predeceased by his parents, Filomeno and Amelia, and siblings Gilberto, Jorge, Lucho, Grimanesa, and Diógenes.
His legacy continues through his children: Pepe, Victor, David, Susan, Marita, and Paola, each a testament to how far a family can go with steadfast humility and hard work. He took immense pride in his grandchildren—Joshua, Yustin, Stephanía, José Francisco, Brooke, Noah, Omar, and Amelia—as well as his great-granddaughter, Luciana.
Victor's life was one of personal connection, fierce dedication, the ability to make people feel special at all times, and a constant engagement with the world around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, a reminder of a flawed but kind man, who embraced life with laughter, kindness, and a generous spirit. His legacy will live through the actions and of his children, and the stories they will have to tell, share, and laugh about for years to come.
