Victoria Ashley Lawrence, fondly known as Tori, was born on September 12, 1999, in Kansas. She brought joy into the world and the lives of everyone she encountered with her warm smile that could light up even the darkest of days. Tori was a vibrant soul, full of creativity and artistic expression. She had an unparalleled love for music, art, and all things creative, often engaging in photography, crafts, and painting. Halloween was her favorite day of the year, a time when her spirit truly shined as she embraced the magic of the holiday.

Growing up, Tori found solace in singing and dancing around the kitchen while cooking. There was something incredibly special about these moments, filled with love and laughter, often accompanied by the gentle purring of her beloved cats as they cuddled in her lap. Tori cherished long conversations, big hugs, and the comfort of having those she loved close by. Her heart was vast, and she loved deeply, always ready to lend a hand to someone in need, even when she faced her own struggles.

Tori's journey was not without its challenges. She felt everything with a depth that many may never fully understand—her love, fears, trauma, anxiety, anger, and pain were experienced with every fiber of her being. Despite her efforts to overcome the struggles that weighed heavily on her, Tori's body and soul eventually grew tired and yearned for rest. Her passing on November 2, 2025, in Virginia leaves behind a profound sense of loss.

In the midst of her challenges, Tori displayed remarkable resilience. She was on a path of self-improvement, striving to create a better outlook on life. Her aspirations were noble; she dreamed of becoming a Forensic Psychologist, wanting to understand and help others while possibly finding healing for herself. Tori often spoke of her hopes of one day getting married and becoming a mom, visions she held close to her heart as she sought stability and healing.

Tori is survived by her loving family: her father, Sean Lawrence; her mother, Patricia Lawrence; and her sister, Alexia Lawrence. They will carry her memory eternally, cherishing the beautiful moments they shared, the laughter, and the love that enveloped their time together.

Preceding her in death were her great-grandparents, Nanny and Papason, and her uncle, Chris Scholl. Additionally, the loss of her friend Chris Thurman remains a heart-wrenching reminder of the love that continues even after parting.

In remembering Tori, we celebrate not only the light she brought to our lives but also the complexities of her spirit. She was a beautiful, artistic soul who loved fiercely and expressed herself in a myriad of ways. Though she faced struggles, her legacy of love and creativity will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. She believed that those we have lost visited us here in the form of a butterfly. So if you see a lone butterfly close by, just know that she is reminding you of her love.
