Craig
April 5, 1946 – May 20, 2026
The family of Winsome Alleen Rosalis Craig (Morris) announces with profound sadness her passing on May 20, 2026, at the age of 80. Winsome was born on April 5, 1946, in Saint Ann, Jamaica the second of four children. Guided by courage and ambition, she became one of the first members of her family to immigrate to the United States, where she became a proud citizen.
A woman of remarkable determination and perseverance, Winsome pursued higher education while raising three children. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Housing and Consumer Economics from Cornell University and later received a Master of Business Administration from Binghamton University. She led by example, showing what it means to pursue your dreams fearlessly.
Her professional life reflected her deep interest in housing and economic development, specializing in low-income housing programs. Winsome worked as an asset manager for a faith based non-profit organization and a financial analyst for Arlington County. In addition to her professional accomplishments, personally, she was passionate about investing in real estate.
Winsome was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Craig. She was a devoted wife, cherished sister, loving mother, and proud grandmother and great-grandmother. Family was the center of her life, and she treasured every opportunity to gather with loved ones. One of her greatest joys was celebrating her 80th birthday surrounded by family and friends only a month before her passing. She also found joy in watching romance films, especially K-dramas and loved to sketch and paint.
Those who knew Winsome would describe her as kind, honest, loyal, generous and a devout Catholic. She lived a life grounded in compassion and service, extending help to those in need whenever she could.
Winsome leaves behind a legacy of faith, strength, generosity, and enduring love. She was known for her warm smile and infectious laughter, which brought joy and comfort to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
